Direct Instruction Phonics (Lesson #7) The Letter D and Vowel: O

Hello all!

Coming out of the Covid-19 pandemic many parents and teachers realized that their students are behind in reading. I am creating a phonics-based series of videos to support students learning to read.
I upload a new video every Saturday!

Phonics Direct Instruction Videos are designed for older students that are still at a very low reading level. They are colorful, but not babyish, providing concentrated phonics instruction for student that require reading intervention in decoding. The videos are designed for the student that has had some exposure to foundational reading skills, however, has failed to master the content.

My favorite Features:
  • Students are asked to identify letters, sounds, decode words and dictate sounds then words.
  • Digital Flashcards are provided for additional practice.
  • The videos are recorded as if the teacher is talking directly to the student, making it an ideal tool for those untrained in teaching phonics or those that do not have the time to prepare additional phonics lessons.
  • Minimal tools are required--pencil and paper!
